2018 Unit Recharter

Beginning now, the District is turning it's focus towards assisting Seneca Units in their annual renewal process.  Our commissioners will begin contacting units to assit them with the online recharter process.  The online recharter portal will be open to units starting October 1st, 2017.  Online instructions, log in information, and assitance will be available at Roundtable in October, November, and December.  The November 8th Rountable will be at the Sam Swope Scout Center and will focus solely on the Recahrter process.  We recommend that all units complete as much of the paperwork before this meeting and assistance to complete the rest will be provided.  On December 2nd, the District is hosting a recharter and Journey to Excellence workshop at the Sam Swope Scout Center from 9:00 am to Noon to help units complete the paperwork for the year.  Refreshments will be provided! 

We ask that the adult volunteer in charge of this process for the unit attend one or all of these meetings in order to ensure a smooth recharter process.  It is the District's responsibility to recharter all units and we are here to help!  The District has committed to having all units rechartered by Friday, December 15th as to avoid the holidays.  The absolute last day to submit recharters online is December 30th. 

October 1st:  Online Recharter Portal Opens to all Units

November 8th:  Online Recharter Roundtable at the Scout Center

December 2nd:  Recharter and Journey to Excellence Workshop at the Scout Center

December 13th:  Final Recharter Workshop in Seneca District

**UPDATE**

All adults wishing to recharter and stay registered on any unit roster must have current Youth Protection Training.  Adults that are not current will prevent a unit's recharter paperwork from processing.  Youth Protection training will be available at all of the activities listed above.

2017 Popcorn Sale! 

2017 Popcorn Sale — It's Teamwork That Counts!  Popcorn is coming soon, and there is no easier, risk free fundraiser with as high of a return to Scouting. It is the best way for your unit to fund an exciting program, and all the while teach your Scouts the importance of "Earning Their Way."

Seneca District will have its 2017 Popcorn Kickoff on July 12th at the Sam Swope Scout Center!  Show and Sell orders are due on August 1st so be sure to have your unit represented at the District Kickoff to learn about the 2017 sale and the new products available to sell.

Attention all Seneca Scouters!  What an exciting time to be a Scout in the Lincoln Heritage Council!  With so many great events planned in the district, it’s no question that Scouting is alive and thriving in the city of Louisville!  From Cub-o-Rees, to camp cards and from Pinewood Derby’s to Day camp there is something for everyone! All of our events are managed and staffed by volunteers serving behind the scenes to ensure that our scouts have the best program possible.  If you or someone you know is looking to get involved on the district level and would like to help volunteer their time and talent please contact Donnie Helstern, Donnie.helstern@scouting.org, Bob Hausladen, robert@hausladen.us, or David Todd, scoutingoutdoors@hotmail.com to discuss our open positions and where we could use some help!  This person can be currently registered with the BSA or an influential member of your community that would like to get involved!
